The Monarch is an older motel, but the staff work hard to keep it clean and functional. They always put in extra effort to make certain you have a comfortable stay. I stay there often for work, and it is the best place in Hawthorne. It is not the Ritz, but it is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Every room has a Microwave and Fridge, every bathroom’s exhaust fan works, and there is a laundry room in the motel for you to clean your clothes. When I am away from home for a week or two at a time, I like being a guest of Jack & family at the Monarch. NOTE: the check in is at the Best Inn across the street. Also a good place to stay.
We enjoyed the welcoming host, a long time resident, and appreciated that the mini fridge was already cold. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable. The shower felt great after camping, and the heater could be set for just the right temperature.
Owners Jack & Sudha were welcoming, informative re Hawthorne history and local geography. Room was clean, great beds and quiet. Reasonable rate. Close to restaurants. Great staff and pride of ownership.
I cannot say enough good things about this motel. The manager at the front desk was extremely nice & personable. The motel is older but is kept immaculately. No trash/cigarette butts outside. Nice sitting area with tables & benches. A laundry room. Rooms are exceptionally clean and kept up. My sheets were sparkling white with no stains. They have a microwave & refrigerator. Plenty of soap, shampoo/conditioner and even lotion. Bathroom/shower was so clean. I've stayed at motels that cost a lot more than this and they weren't this clean. And they allowed my dogs. I travel from Phoenix to Reno frequently. This place will be my stay over in Hawthorne from now on. Thank you so much!
My post is a little late, but I stayed here in July and the owners were so gracious and sweet. Although aesthetically, some may feel it’s a little outdated, it was very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay there again when I’m back in my hometown.
